Lately India has faced issues related to Governance wherein the state was constantly reprimanded by legislature for discordant policies adopted by the Govt. in various matters.
Spectrum allocation is one such issue. Telecom Ministry has been constantly misusing the power to sell highly profitable bands to corporate powerhouses on unrevised rates over the years. The argument they use is very interesting. They say its for growth of sector for widespread usage of the technology.
So its not surprising when Kapil Sibal states that there has been no loss to the state in the recent alleged scam while SC thinks otherwise.
Lets quickly get to the crux of the matter without drawing conclusions. Firstly India being a diverse state with highly varied stakeholders any policy adopted cannot be completely right or completely wrong. Reservation, naxalism, privatisation issues can be stated in the support.
Secondly, Political will to make changes is very low owing to centralised decision making which is what is followed in practical in our bureaucracy. So this is the reason why no one gives a shit what happens in nagaland or for that matter anything that doesnt affect masses on a whole.
Thus i believe we cant have a indian version of jasmine revolution here.
