A Fresh Perspective

Amaratya Sen, the noble price winner in economics, is a person who is always good to hear to on account of various reasons but I in partcular like his perpectives with a flick of historical allutions he regularly makes.
In a recent television interview on NDTV he talked on a variety of issues ranging from recuperative efforts made by national and international players, and other stake holders to Unique Indentification Number. He also discussed the recent upsurge of voilence in Kashmir.

But what piqued my interest in the discussion was his usage of the term- ' fresh perpective'. According to him if a problem blows out of proportion, unpecedently such that it becomes hard to think on the lines framed previously as a solution. And that precisely calls for a newer perpective to actually rethink about what went wrong.

Obviously the Bengali economist is a well learned thinker but his conversations are never didactic. He has spent most of his life on foreign lands and that applies mostly on his daughter who recently made headlines for her bold appearances in entertainment sector on couple of occasions namely a movie and a magazine. Indian media did the possible coverage in every way to create some sensation but the veteran economist was unfliched and totally discredited the information saying he respects her daughter's penchant for her career and also her independency. That is on western lines of thinking which hard to get through the commoners.

Lets take another incidence related to a yet another NRI- Shashi Tharoor. He once allegedly denigraded Indian Middle Class by usage of the term- ' Cattle Class' which nearly tarshined his goody-goody image of Indian representative in UN. This guy also fought the elections for the post of president in UN but it was passed over to China's Ban ki moon. However that is a different story. What piqued my interest in both the episodes is the way one carries himself in a different set of cultural settings and upto what one apllies himself to develop the perspicacity as a skill to adapt and influence.

During my stint as a corporate networking official i found and learned every day mostly on my outbound assignments that importance of creating a prima-facie impression is very far-fetched. Although i understand that it is the first few seconds or minutes( for B type Personality) to adjudge a person and formation of first hand opinion; this precisely fails if one has to deal with client on various levels and continued performance showcasing situations. More importantly if the official in question looks after every single facet of the department. My profession made me look from ' a newer perpective' every time whenever i had to deal with different kinds of people.

Only a few people get an opputunity to work in the profession they are made for. The reason is not always logistical or contingency influenced. Its hard for people to find out about what they actually like in the first place. The next phase to to get there. After reaching there one cant be complacent, he or she has to make continued efforts to move in the direction of his or her desire by narrowing to field of expertise. This is known as latitudinal Expertisation. One has to be dogged enough to side line every thing which not in the priority and become focussed.

Of course you have listen to different opinions but the final decisions are to made always by the subject. When one tries to seek about great leaders and my personal favorite Ratan Tata he/she finds the importance of what i just said.

Also in the spiritual context, Human life form is the most rewarded one as compared to other life form so it becomes impending on ourselves to not merely vegetate and give back some contribution to personal upliftment and thereby spiritual self-actualisation and thereby to the fellow beings.

But for that one has to become Empowered himself/herself!!!

If it has not worked so far then look from ' a Fresh Perspective'!!!
