Sometimes I feel myself to let go and fly when I’m on a bike. With its digital speedometer showing the limitations I dream the other end, the invisible I think invincibility out the ingrained vulnerability. The fast moving earth and still sky, the constant sun and deep roar of the engine which has two sounds one when you look forward and the other when you look sideways. The heat of engine feels like lukewarm on a spring summer day. The hot and cool air hitting upon my face forms an ambience of heaven. Mind stays on nothingness and the body obliges. Eyes speak the language of the unspoken tales. Hairs play to the tune of the winds.
When the road doesn’t bend and is straight across the plains I see the eternity. That steady state is so serene and calm that time stops. I try to break the monotony by looking around but could find nothing. For a fraction of second I go out of control and the energy inside fluctuates so hard that I can feel my heart thumping.
Loosing the sense of time is queasy feeling. I’m not afraid of the darkness but I’m afraid of its in activity. People try to control their little world via plans. Plans when goes right they get delighted when they go wrong they get motivated to plan further to include the failure in the realm of their plans. Plans can be adjusted because they are the creation of man but destiny is not. This is not skeptic but a static truth.
The basic reasoning which brain uses to keep its slave under control is to blind the horizons of thinking. The frog in a well considers the well as its world which is not an issue of complicacy to it unless it gets the basic needs fulfilled. Similarly whenever limitedness is fought it is not for basic needs but for higher needs which stands on top of maslow’s need hierarchy.
Sati system, dowry, genocide , antisemitsm and others are vices in the society and are fought against because they depict limitedness of thinking.
Socrates was killed by the society because he presented unlimitedness; something which extended the horizon of common man and hence put everyone out of control of their little worlds.
You see society works on some basic laws. They are need based and work on the principle of rationality. For example the needy work for money which in turn is paid for his or her services. This simple reasoning and works “always”. This ‘always’ is a soothing word. Now suppose you render services and also pay the master for the same. This seems amusing but has the potential to crept the system completely.
Such ideology works like an atomic bomb explosion. Just as a chain reaction. First it will disable the monetary system and cause excessive burden on centre due to one way accumulation of wealth and then the social system decrypts which signifies the fall of the system.
You just look at the history; any civilization no matter how modernistic or scientific it may be, Civilizations fall just because of a thought. Yes its painful to accept and the irony is that the very fall is not because of the limitedness of basic needs but because of higher needs.
Let me clarify the difference between higher needs and basic needs.
Supposedly you see a child in worn out clothes inside a railway station begging for money. Hear wrenches out for him cause he also has his tiny sister on his back. She is cying and the boy says that they are hungry for quite some time. One way is to give some money to him which intern will fetch the food for them. But you think of a long term solution to wipe out their dilapidated situation all together. But how are you going to do it. See now you have to find a way by which the poor boy and his tiny sister could live a happy life.
Do you think education is the solution or let me rephrase do you think it is a priority solution. You see education, self respect and self actualization are something which are meaning less for a person whose basic needs are un met. Alexander or Modern America ; all had their basic needs fulfilled but still because of all their higher needs they moved on to achieve what they never wanted in the first place.
