NaiDunia represents Hindi print media fraternity as one of the oldest, most reputed and pioneer of Hindi dailies. Established in 1947 just before independence by Freedom Fighters Babu Labhchand Chhajlani & Shri Basantilal Sethia, NaiDunia has traversed across the independent era of modern day India. Over the years even though NaiDunia’s geographical boundaries were limited to central India, NaiDunia made its mark on national press scene because of its quality journalism & technical excellence. Through its 60 years journey NaiDunia has successfully instituted norms of credibility and truthfulness for an ideal print medium. It has set itself apart in the society by its issue based, unbiased and non-prejudiced reporting. NaiDunia is also recognized as school of Hindi Journalism where most of the top editors and reporters of India graduated. Every Hindi Newspaper of India can be claimed to have someone who began his or her Journalistic career at NaiDunia.
Mr. Girish Upadhyay emphasized that one must have that vigor and enthusiasm to succeed in journalism. He said that besides the technical skills one must have adequate knowledge about the environment and should be sensible and unbiased in his or her reporting. His take on the following issues is as stated below:
HARD SKILLS:
· A journalist must be Jack of all trades
· He or she must knowledgeable.
· Vigor is the most important thing which is needed to succeed in journalism.
Like swimming can be learned either by jumping into water by oneself or by someone else's push. One’s own jump will lead to a small amount of struggle but the winning attitude will make the process quicker. On the other hand someone's push will make the process longer and tedious, painful and less fruitful.
SOFT SKILLS
-Communication must be effective so that information transfer must be smooth.
-For Electronic media basic requirement is good pronunciation etc.
EMERGING TRENDS
Earlier the newspaper were much Textually richer.
Now visual impact has acquired much more importance.

EMERGING TRENDS
He feels that growing dominance of electronic media has only helped print media to expand its reader base. He said that according to surveys circulation of print media has almost doubled in the last five years. According to him Newspaper and electronic media complement each other. Also as the number of literate people increases the circulation of English print media will also increase. He also stated that Hindustan times publishes its news by keeping an angle of common man in mind and not to cater the needs of a particular group of literate class such as IAS officers etc.Thus he confides with un biased reporting.

He said that Media has evolved over the years. The mindset of the management is changing; they now understand that the print media has to be costumer oriented. The printing is now less tedious and technology driven. He stated that media has glamour but inside it requires rigorous work also the ongoing slowdown has also affected the media.
